The amount of time you should spend strength training will vary depending on the sort of goals you'd like to achieve. If larger, more powerful muscles are desired, you need to strength train less frequently. If you want to reduce your fat, increase the intensity and volume of your workout.

Track everything you do throughout each day. Include everything you eat, drink and do. Even keep track of the day's weather and your feelings that day. Doing so makes it easier to remember your highs and lows. If you slack off on your workout for a couple days, record the reason for this lapse.

Record all of your daily activity in a detailed fitness diary. Keep detailed records of your workouts, including any incidental exercise you did during the day. It is a good idea to purchase a pedometer in order for you to keep track of the steps you take. Add this into your journal too. By having a record of your daily exercises, you can track your progress.
